We create custom typefaces for brands, organizations, and institutions. Whether developing a new visual identity for an established brand or supporting a project before launch, we work closely with clients to create tailor-made typographic systems. Our custom work includes creating entirely new type families from scratch or modifying existing ones. We also offer logo design, lettering, and custom coding services to meet specific requirements.
Delvaux Script
A script typeface inspired from handwriting for a Belgian luxury brand
Delvaux is a Belgian luxury goods company founded in 1829 in Brussels. Base Brussels asked us to design a custom typeface to nourrish the brand’s visual identity. For Delvaux, maintaining a privileged relationship with their customers means writing to them through invites and small stationery accompagnying the purchases. For a tailored experience, we worked closely with the in-house calligrapher and created a script typeface with enough randomness to mimick handwriting while staying practical to use. Through use of ligatures and alternates, and special letterings for the iconic products, the typeface acts just like the real thing.
